While you probably wouldn’t believe it, it’s been exciting to take a break and spend time working on a new personal project. The weather has been in my favor and I’ve had a few consistent days of balcony weather which should never be taken for granted.
In the spirit of quality time and home enjoyment, my husband gifted us with a vinyl record that I didn’t know I even wanted until I laid eyes on it. It even matches the couch! He walked in with a light blue vinyl player and Marvin Gaye vinyls. I’m sure the neighbor heard my squeal of excitement. In the rush of life, it’s easy to forget the small pleasures. With the holiday off, I actually spent an hour on my couch with my husband and dog simply enjoying music without distraction. It’s good for the soul. With no travel plans in the near future, I think small breaks as described are a great way to get outside of your head and enjoy the moment no different than sinking your toes in Hawaiian sand.
As for the future ahead, I was contacted to do a couple of restaurant reviews over the next few weeks which I am looking forward to. In short, good meals and cool weather are in my future.
